Tagine Lid Lagoon
A tagine, also known as a tajine, is a traditional Moroccan cookware made of ceramics that can be used directly over an open flame or in an oven and then placed directly on the table. The tagine offered by the Emile Henry brand can be used on gas, electric, and ceramic stovetops, as well as in the oven up to 250 degrees Celsius. This cookware is not suitable for use on an induction cooktop (although there is an option to use an induction disk).
This original cookware is handmade by the French company Emile Henry.
Sample Dishes:
Chicken and Caramelized Onion Tagine: This is one of the most famous Moroccan tagine dishes. It combines chicken, warming spices, raisins, onions, and honey. It's a classic, and it always tastes the best. Delicious, melt-in-your-mouth meat enveloped in a thick, slightly sticky sauce with a hint of spices, honey, and raisins. This is just one of many options.
In a tagine, you can prepare not only chicken with vegetables in various ways but also lamb with pumpkin and chickpeas, beef with vegetables, or seafood.
Vegetarians can also enjoy a tagine with a combination of vegetables according to their taste, served with chickpeas or rice.
Uses:
You can use this cookware to prepare delicious Moroccan cuisine, stews, and other dishes that require simmering, baking, or slow cooking.
The tagine has been designed specifically for slow cooking: the lid has a unique shape that allows air to circulate inside the cookware, bringing out the best flavors in your dishes.
Prepared meat will always be tender, and vegetables and sauces will reveal their rich taste and aroma, characteristic of Moroccan cuisine.
The bottom of the cookware is also excellent for making casseroles.
How to Cook:
When starting to cook in a tagine, use low heat for the first 5 minutes. Always ensure there is a little water or fat at the bottom of the cookware while cooking.
Long, slow cooking at low heat yields the best results in a tagine. Thanks to the high resistance of the glaze, you can use metal kitchen utensils during cooking without worrying about scratching the surface.
Usage Tips:
Before the first use, remove all labels from the product and clean thoroughly if necessary using a mild detergent.
The pot can be used on all types of stovetops with an induction disk for induction hobs. You can also use it in the oven for identical results.
Always start with low heat for the first 5 minutes to allow the temperature to rise gradually.
Do not heat the base of the pot without any ingredients.
Cook on a stovetop burner that matches the size of the cookware, usually the largest one.
Thanks to its very resistant glaze, you can use metal utensils while cooking without scratching the surface.
When the pot is hot, do not come into contact with anything cold, such as cold water or a cold surface. After removing it from the oven, place it on a neutral surface like a wooden board or cloth.
If residues do not come off during cleaning, soak them in hot water and white vinegar before putting them in the dishwasher.
10-year warranty against manufacturing defects (does not cover thermal or mechanical shocks, such as dropping or impact).
Made in France.
