Tesse is a decorative ornamental pattern that references 17th-century Dutch ornaments known as "versierselen," which were commonly used at the time. It is characterized by stylization, symmetry, and motif repetition, all clearly evident in this design. The original Tesse is an etching from 1817, sourced from the archives of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. On the duvet cover, the Tesse pattern is presented as a panel print, with side panels in a contrasting color. The edges of the duvet cover and pillowcases are finished with an elegant piping.
