About the author: Claude Monet (born November 14, 1840, in Paris) - a French painter, one of the founders and leading representatives of Impressionism. The name of this genre was inspired by the title of one of the artist's paintings "Impression, Sunrise". Monet spent his youth in Le Havre, where he initially started as a caricaturist. Later, influenced by his mentor Boudin, he changed his style and began painting landscapes. His work evolved and form became less significant. Monet's painting approached an abstraction composed of colorful spots. Most important to him became light and the color it brought out. His works laid the groundwork for the creation of pointillism by Seurat.
