Mcusta's folding knives are the result of years of experience. The blade, cold-forged from SPG2 steel, is characterized by increased density, wear resistance, and higher hardness. The precisely crafted liner lock system ensures user safety, and the full-sized handle, which fits well in the hand, guarantees comfort during use.

SG2 Steel:

SG2, also known as "Super Gold #2," is a high-speed powdered steel used in Echizen (formerly Takefu), a legendary blade-making location since the 13th century. Knives made from this steel have topped consumer test reports by the Swedish company Smartson, outperforming all leading European brands.

This steel boasts exceptional hardness (exceeding most other powdered steels) and extremely long edge retention. It is easy to maintain and highly resistant to rust, which is rare among steels with such excellent edge-holding properties. Like the iconic ZDP-189 steel, SG2 maintains sharpness for an extended period but is much easier to sharpen. It allows for creating cutting edges at low angles and excels with thin, polished cutting edges.

Mcusta Zanmai:

Since 1964, the Japanese brand Mcusta has specialized in knife production. "Mcusta" means luxury, reflecting the meticulous attention to detail in the products from this manufacturer. Modern technologies, such as laser cutting of blades and cold forging, combined with hand assembly, result in some of the best knives in the world. Mcusta Zanmai also produces well-crafted outdoor folding knives with full-sized handles.

Maintenance:

When choosing a stainless steel knife, minimal maintenance requirements are expected. However, it is essential to remember that all steel contains carbon, meaning no steel is entirely corrosion-proof. Even if the steel is classified as stainless, it is worth developing good maintenance habits. Most importantly, do not leave a wet knife; it should be dried before storing. For steel handles, care should be taken not only for the blade but also to avoid using the knife with wet hands.
