Peugeot mills are designed for grinding coarse, dry sea salt crystals up to 4 mm. The manufacturer recommends always using coarse salt—dry, rock, or sea salt. Moist sea salts such as Guerande, Ré, Maldon, pink salt, and fleur de sel should not be used.

The manufacturer provides a 2-year warranty on the mill body and a lifetime warranty on the grinding mechanism.

To refill the mill, unscrew the fastening nut at the top of the mill and remove the lid.

The Peugeot mill is designed exclusively for grinding dry, hard, whole peppercorns up to 6 mm. It can grind black, white, and green peppercorns. The increasingly popular "pink peppercorns" can also be ground, but only when mixed with the aforementioned peppercorns at a ratio of no more than 15%.
