Portmeirion was founded in 1960 by the legendary ceramic designer Susan Williams-Ellis and her husband Euan Cooper-Willis. The history of Portmeirion ceramics actually began when Susan's father asked her to create ceramic gifts for the village shop in Portmeirion.
