The Fior d'olio olive oil tester with dispenser, designed by Marta Sansoni, is the epitome of how the concept of olive oil and olives can be combined into a product that serves both as an olive oil dispenser and as a vessel for testing and tasting even the most refined olive oils.
The product is divided into two parts: a small green glass container used for olive oil testing and tasting, primarily intended for professional olive oil tasters. The distinctive color of the glass allows the actual color of the oil inside to be concealed. This is important during olive oil tasting, as color can influence the final judgment of the oil.
The second part is the dispenser itself, made of 18/10 stainless steel, designed to stylistically resemble the top part of an olive. Together with the tester, they create a product that resembles a ripe olive.
It's worth noting that the stainless steel dispenser is designed to fit on olive oil bottles with a plastic thread, allowing it to be securely attached to the neck of the bottle. This enables controlled pouring of the olive oil.
The product is not only a unique gift idea for olive oil connoisseurs but also for anyone, as the dispenser can be used in daily life. Additionally, the tapered shape of the product allows for a more pronounced release of the olive oil's aroma.
Marta Sansoni is an architect and designer who received an architecture award in 1990. She has worked on projects for new residential buildings in Florence and has designed interiors for shops, restaurants, cafes, wine bars, homes, and offices in Italy.
