Depending on the position of the lid, you can pour off the liquid, and thanks to the large holes, the pasta won't escape, while the small holes are used for draining rice. When the lid is tightly closed, you can cook items with a small amount of water.
The lids are designed for pots from the Function 4 collection by WMF.
