To sharpen a knife, you should pour water into the sharpener. Then, hold the sharpener with one hand to prevent it from moving during use. With your other hand, hold the knife, gripping its spine with your index finger. Starting with the coarse grain, slide the knife while applying slight pressure. Repeat the process with the medium grain. After sharpening, wash the knife with hot water and dry it thoroughly, and rinse the sharpener and pour out the water from it.
